Andrea Grubich
Andrea has been the Freshman Volleyball Coach at St. Francis DeSales High School since 2006, and
has guided her teams to a top three finish in the Central Catholic League within this time. Before
coaching at DeSales, Andrea coached two seasons for the Michigan State University’s Women’s Club
Volleyball Team. In 2005, her team finished as Runners-Up in the NIRSA National Championship, and in
2006 her team won the NIRSA DII National Championship. In 2005, three of her players made the All-
American team with one being honored as the Libero of the Year. In 2006, three of her players made
the All-Amerian team with one being honored as the tournament MVP.
Prior to coaching, Andrea played three years on the Michigan State University Women’s Club
Volleyball Team and one year at St. Clair County Community College (MI). At St. Clair, Andrea played an
active role in a NJCAA DII national season record of 73 wins and two losses in 2000. That same year,
her team won the NJCAA DII National Championship. Andrea attended Midland High School in Midland,
MI and was a member of the varsity volleyball team for three seasons; reaching the Michigan State
Quarterfinals in her first season with the team. In her time in high school, she earned various league,
district, regional, and state honors.
Andrea is an active player of USAV, and her team won the OVR Women’s A title this past season. She
resides in Columbus, and will be married in May 2009. Andrea is excited for the opporutnity to be a
part of the CVA family, and hopes to help bring further success to the program.
